Why replace the three-way catalytic converter?
1. The temperature is too high
At room temperature, the three-way catalytic converter does not have the catalytic ability, the catalyst must be heated to a certain temperature to have the ability of oxidation or reduction, usually the catalytic converter ignition temperature is 250-350 ° C, the normal working temperature is generally 400-800 ° C. When the catalytic converter works, the higher the amount of self, the higher the oxidation temperature, when the temperature exceeds 1000 ° C, the catalyst of its inner coating will be sintered and necrotic, and it is also easy to occur vehicle spontaneous combustion accidents. Therefore, we must pay attention to the control of various factors that cause the exhaust temperature to rise, such as too late ignition time or ignition sequence disorder, fire break, etc., which will make the unburned mixture into the catalytic reactor, resulting in too high exhaust temperature, affecting the efficiency of the catalytic converter.
2. Chronic poisoning
Catalyst is very sensitive to sulfur, lead, phosphorus, zinc and other elements, sulfur and lead from gasoline, phosphorus and zinc from lubricating oil, these four substances and their combustion in the engine after the formation of oxide particles are easy to be adsorbed on the surface of the catalyst, so that the catalyst can not contact with the exhaust gas, thus losing the catalytic effect, the so-called "poisoning" phenomenon.
3. Surface area carbon
When the car works at a low temperature for a long time, the three-way catalytic converter cannot be started, the carbon smoke from the engine will adhere to the surface of the catalyst, resulting in no contact with CO and HC, and in the long run, the pores of the carrier will be blocked, affecting its conversion efficiency.
4. Exhaust deterioration
The catalytic converter has a certain limit on the conversion capacity of pollutants, so the original exhaust must be minimized by in-machine purification technology. If the concentration and total amount of the components of the discharged waste gas pollutants are too large, such as the mixture is too strong, it will affect the catalytic conversion ability of the catalytic converter and reduce its conversion efficiency. In addition, due to the large amount of HC and CO in the exhaust gas into the catalytic reactor, there will be excessive oxidation reaction in it, and a large amount of heat generated by the oxidation reaction will make the catalytic reactor too high temperature and damage.
