Diesel Particulate filter (DPF) is a device installed in the exhaust system of diesel vehicles to reduce particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust by filtering. DPF captures particles through a mixture of surface and internal filtration devices, such as diffusion precipitation, inertial precipitation or linear interception, which can effectively purify 70% to 90% of the particles in the exhaust, and is one of the most effective and direct methods for purifying diesel particulate matter, which has been commercialized internationally. In order to meet the emission regulations of Euro VI or the United States 2010, the diesel exhaust post-treatment system will be more complex, and it is necessary to integrate the diesel oxidation catalytic catalytic converter (DOC), diesel particle filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction device (SCR) and so on to control diesel emissions.

Why replace the diesel particulate filter?
When the engine of a diesel car is running, the exhaust gas from combustion passes through the filter in the DPF, where tiny particles are trapped and larger gas molecules are emitted through the filter. If the engine is running poorly, such as through incomplete combustion, a large amount of carbon will be deposited in the DPF filter and block the intake and exhaust holes of the filter, thereby reducing the filtration efficiency and affecting the engine performance, and eventually the DPF filter needs to be replaced.

DPF is the only option to satisfy particle number emissions. Common DPF support materials are ceramics, aluminum titanate and silicon carbide. The choice of carrier material is mainly based on the use of DPF and regeneration strategy, including carbon back pressure, filtration efficiency, regeneration temperature, time and so on. DOC INTRODUCTION
DOC is one of the most important catalysts for diesel engine reprocessing. Its main function is to oxidize the unburned hydrocarbons (HC) in the engine and the carbon monoxide (CO) produced during combustion into harmless water and carbon dioxide. At the same time, it can also convert NO into NO2 for passive regeneration of downstream catalyst particle trap (CDPF) and improve NOx conversion efficiency of SCR. Depending on the emission requirements, it is sometimes necessary to integrate multiple functions on DOC, which also brings great challenges to the design of DOC.
